      According to recent studies, 5 percent of all motor vehicle fatalities are clearly caused by automobile maintenance neglect.

      The cooling system should be completely flushed and refilled about every 24 months. The level, condition, and concentration of coolant should be checked. (A 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water is usually recommended.)

      Never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled. The tightness and condition of drive belts, clamps and hoses should be checked by a pro.

    I recently had my car serviced at Car Doc on the Island. The technician did a full inspection. I was given a written estimate for the scheduled maintenance that was due and the bill was exactly that amount. No surprises! I was also told of upcoming manufacturers services that would be due by my next oil change. Stacy also arranged for my car to be picked up and dropped off after the service was completed. This level of customer service is a lost art today! I will be using them for all my car repairs.
